What have you made?
To date, I have written several scripts and shot a short film "Amazon" based on one of them. I sent it to your festival.
What are you making next?
I dream of making a full-length film based on one of my scripts. This is an action movie about heavy big trucks.
What do you believe in?
I believe in God, and that by giving inspiration, He also gives the opportunity to bring your ideas to life!
What inspires you to make?
I think I was inspired by American films of the nineties. It was the first time we saw American action films in the USSR, and it was very impressive! We have never seen anything like this before, such films were not made in the Soviet Union. This was the strongest impression of my youth. I think this has affected all my creativity.
Who has mentored you?
I am mentored by everything and everyone around me, people who share their cinematic experiences in interviews and memoirs.
How do you make what you make?
Scenes from the movie just pop up in your head, like memories of something that never happened. You need to put them in a story, as you put a picture from a puzzle, describe them in words, and then reproduce them in reality. Done! A movie appeared!
What creators and creations inspire you most?
I really like Denis Villeneuve's films, his Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, Prisoners. They have a unique atmosphere and tension.
What is your story?
I was studied at the faculty of film and television of the Natalia Nesterova University from 2000-to 2001. My main activities: director, screenwriter, artist, photographer. “Amazon” is my first film. The script was written by me seventeen years ago. I didn't manage to find financing then. And recently I realized that technical progress today allows me to make this film with my own money. It seemed to be important to make this film to convey the beauty and dynamism of this story, as well as to demonstrate my director's vision. No matter what the future holds for me, this film allowed me to become a director, and its appearance is the most important event in my life.
What is your purpose?
my main goal today is to make a full-length film.
What miracles have you experienced in your life?
The main miracle is creativity! When I was shooting my film, I did not leave the feeling of a miracle.
What miracles do you want to perform?
If I manage to shoot a full-length film, it will be a miracle much more than the previous one!
What do you need to make miracles happen?
To accomplish this miracle, I need to find a producer who will believe in my project and in me as a director.
